Teams from Seto Gurans made visits out to the villages to undertake surveys looking at key indicators, atttiudes to child rearing. With Seto Gurans, we then met with local government representatives from the Education department to inform them of our ECD project and obtain district approval and support.Early childhood development training began with facilitators and the management committee of the villages, delivered by Seto Gurans. Construction begins on five centres in four locations. The whole community comes together for the build with men, women and children all playing their part. The first site is completed in April and seventeen children are registered and with their fully trained and supported facilitator - lessons begin. By the end of July, all five centres have been built. 2008 newsletters

Sailung TriNetra sought advice and support from a number of different organisations including the Early Childhood Education Centre, Seto Gurans National Child Development Center and CERID with a view to broadening our knowledge base and supporting our activities. In late 2007 we appointed Seto Gurans as our local partner, a Nepalese-based NGO and an early pioneer in childhood development in Nepal since the 1980s. Seto Gurans provides training for women, in particular mothers, living in remote regions of Nepal while empowering them to take more active leadership roles in their communities. Together we began developing the training programs for committee members, facilitators (teachers) and the wider community. Building Committees were appointed in each village to look at the planning and construction of the centres and sites were selected.
